There are many great food moments in this film... I was practically salivating from start to finish... and so for anyone who has not seen the movie, here is my contribution, a good 16 or so minutes of the best scenes I could ever think of in a movie... I've squeezed out the essence of it for you to enjoy!

This is the very first shots of the movie, Julia and her husband just arrived in France and the first thing they did was go to a restaurant and order this amazing dish... can't wait to find the recipe...
Part of the movie where Julie tells her husband why she loves cooking while whipping an amazing chocolate dessert. I have to agree cooking and baking never fails to make me feel better...
This is the part when Julie's brilliant hubster coax her to start blogging, while at it, digging into a really scrumptious dish that a recipe I MUST undoubtedly find! If you don't taste what he's eating in this scene... you're numb! I felt like I just want to slap his hand for not sharing and just stuffing his face nonsense like that!
There's nothing yummy about this scene but how Eric supported Julie amazes me... there are husbands out there like mine... they're just amazing human beings... don't know how the world will go around without them... guess it won't!
Going back to food... yes... I agree,,, one can never have enough butter... NEVER!!! I just went to the grocer and got me-self lots of butter and hubby asked... do you really need that many butter... so yes... I replied "you can never have enough butter"... which is true! There's really no other way of putting it... just brill!
Julie was lost and didn't know what to do with herself and in some way or other, karmic blessing found her, cooking (of course her hubby too) has become sanity-saving .... her kitchen adventures became a legend on its own, a transforming phase that became life-saving for her... I was magically transported into her world for awhile there... I felt exactly the same...
It gives me hope that one day I'll be able to nail poaching an egg. I tried couple of times, trying different tricks... and wasting lots of egg... I won't stop though... I want to taste what she tasted... mine will have home made hollaindaise sauce though... I CAN'T WAIT!
Way back when, I only know cheddar cheese and the once in awhile occassion of meeting Mr. Parmegianno Reggiano and not knowing I was eating Mozarella via pizza but that's about it. Until I came here, the land of abundance of almost everything, I discovered cheese... a multitude of variety... this is exactly how I felt when I first tasted Bree... angels singing!
Boeuf Bourguignon. Two words that screams "Divine Complications". I'm sure it's delicious but I'm rarely successful with beef. Again, a dish that I must learn how to make... soon. Face your fear as they say... I must face mine... conquer the mooville!
A scene in the movie that doesn't say anything about cooking but Julie exposing herself to the vulnerability of over identifying herself to someone who is accomplished... I don't know why ... but this scene always make me cry... weird me.
This scene ranked 2nd to Julie's hubby, Eric eating that scrumptious dish... you have to agree,,, this made me want to conquer my fear of mooville...
The last meal in the movie sums up Julie's journey,,, it has not ended... it's just the beginning. To all that she thanked the butter to her bread, the breath to her life... very touching ...
Bon Appetit!

    fellow foodies!

I take my reviews seriously albeit all the jokes in it... :) if you're a resto I did not rate well, it means you have to try harder ... hopefully next time, I'll give you a better review.

Lady version of Anton Ego from Ratatouille...

*Reviews are my own opinion. Dining reviews are segregated into anonymous and hosted categories.

Sadly, consistency is an ongoing issue in most F&B outlets, our hosted dining tend to be better than paying customers' and so your feedback is much appreciated.
